One Voice, One Hope
A national collaborative for suicide prevention in the UK.
It began with a conversation between 5 dads bereaved by suicide, which led to The Jordan Legacy creating a vision for a national collaborative for suicide prevention in the UK.
During an online event and panel discussion, in September 2024, to a registered audience of more than 300 people and organisations, our Founder, Steve Phillip shared the vision for this national collaborative and ‘One Voice, One Hope’ was born!
Within weeks, more than 30 suicide prevention advocates from around the UK began the process of shaping a framework for ‘One Voice, One Hope’.
On January 6th 2025, following input provided by those involved in the framework building process, The Jordan Legacy published a report, outlining the pressing need for a new collaborative framework to address suicide prevention in the UK.
The report acknowledged that despite the efforts of our government, the NHS, local authorities and many third sector organisations, up and down the country, the suicide rate has stagnated for over 16 years. More troubling was data indicating an increase in suicides from 2022 to 2023.
The fragmentation and competitive nature of the current suicide prevention landscape underscores the importance of a unified approach to effectively reduce the over 6,000 annual suicides in the UK.
One Voice, One Hope aims to be that unifying approach – a movement for change, driven by those operating grassroots, third sector charities, CIC’s etc, whilst embracing and engaging with all those who want to see us move towards a ‘Zero Suicide Society’, which by our definition is one that is willing and able to do all it can to prevent all preventable suicides.
One Voice, One Hope envisions a national collaborative network uniting organisations, sectors, and individuals to address suicide prevention collectively. The initiative’s goals include fostering inclusion, amplifying the reach of suicide prevention projects, and creating systemic change.
One Voice, One Hope will work alongside, collaborate and amplify the work done by the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA) and other important campaigning organisations like The Baton of Hope UK and support infrastructure like the Hub of Hope.
One Voice, One Hope is a movement and a framework to attempt to achieve something which hasn’t been done at such scale previously, to create true collaboration to help reduce suicides.

The journey so far
As of March 2025, our collaborators identified 3 corner stones which will form the foundation of One Voice, One Hope:
- Undertake a national mapping exercise to identify all those operating in the suicide prevention space.
- Create a national hub/database of good practice in suicide prevention, particularly collaborative initiatives/projects.
- Undertake pilot group initiatives to bring together individuals from organisations who operate in the same area of suicide prevention e.g. education, workplaces, tech for good, etc, to collaborate and identify actions that will make significant change happen on the ground today..
One Voice, One Hope is the next logical step following on from The Jordan Legacy publishing in 2023, the second edition of our action research report; “Moving Towards a Zero Suicide Society“.
