Our mission is to be at the forefront of the advancement of mental health and preventing lives being lost to suicide. Our focus and hope is that we can influence a significant reduction in the annual suicide numbers in the UK.
To achieve our mission, we have ambitious plans to deliver our Zero Suicide strategy, in collaboration with others, which among other activities includes.
- Workplace wellbeing: Working with organisations to improve employee wellbeing and mental health culture
- Design out suicide: Engaging with those working in the design and built environment to explore how practical solutions can be incorporated into the design of outdoor and indoor structures often chosen as means of suicide.
- Digital and Human Lifesaving Systems: Looking at how the digital sector can help develop or share existing apps and other emerging technologies which can either alert others to someone at risk or those technologies which can provide support to someone who is in crisis
- Community Solutions: Our work in communities, such as supporting local drop-in talking centres or working with local schools, parents, sports clubs and other community centres/groups to open up the conversation about suicide and educate and provide support to help lives being lost by suicide.
To remain sustainable, The Jordan Legacy relies on private sector funding or donations from companies or members of the public. We receive no forms of lottery funding or government grants.
