Hope for Life using Jordan’s own handwriting

Our most recent Hope for Life UK Conference  took place at the Pavilions of Harrogate on December 1st 2023. This is a bi-annual conference and will next happen on December 1st 2025.

View our highlights video below. This event was filmed by our partners, BOXmedia from Leeds.

A massive thank you to our sponsor – CTL Communications Ltd.

What happened at our 2023 conference?

We had:

  • A master of ceremonies who made the audience laugh, cry and think, often simultaneously
  • Inspirational stories of overcoming loss and thriving, not simply surviving in life
  • Uplifting musical performances, including from one of the ‘winners’ of Channel 4’s series The Piano
  • An uplifting, moving and stirring theatrical performance based on a true story
  • The Jordan Legacy’s “Spirit of Collaboration” and “Creating Impact Award” presentation
  • A sit down lunch for all attendees, featuring a musical interlude performed by the wonderful Frank Ritchie a previous guest on our radio show, Jordan’s Space.

Speakers and performers at our Hope for Life 2023 Conference

Please Note: At The Jordan Legacy, we continually strive to invite and showcase speakers from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Whilst we may not always achieve our ideal vision in this respect, we do always ensure that there is diversity in the stories shared.

The Awards Luncheon

2 awards were presented at the conference:

The Jordan Legacy’s “Creating Impact Award”

The recipient was The Molly Rose Foundation.

Following the tragic loss of Molly Russel to suicide in 2017, the Russell family and their friends set-up a charitable foundation in Molly’s memory. They also started a high profile campaign, which regular saw Molly’s father, Ian Russell, on TV and in other media. In September this year and 6 years following Molly’s suicide, this campaign saw the introduction of the Online Safety Bill to prevent social media platforms showing the kind of images Molly saw before she took her own life.

The Jordan Legacy’s “Spirit of Collaboration Award”

The recipient’s were: The Baton of Hope (UK) Local Organisers.

During the  summer of 2023, a purposely made baton visited 12 cities across the UK, starting in Glasgow and ending up at Downing Street in London, to raise awareness about suicide.

Crucial to the success of this massive, nationwide tour, were the many hundreds of volunteers and the local organisers who created a real spirit of collaboration, ensuring that as the baton arrived at each location, everyone was in the right place, at the right time. Local organisers also coordinated the many various destination events along the way.
