Radio & Podcasts
This section of our website includes our collaborative "The Happier Me Podcast" and recordings of our radio show, Jordan’s Space.
The “A Happier Me” Podcast is a collaboration between Dr. Manoj Krishna, Founder of the app, HappierMe and The Jordan Legacy’s Founder, Steve Phillip.
Every month, ‘The Happier Me Podcast’ will explore different aspects of life, with an understanding that much of the personal suffering we experience can be reduced if we’re prepared to go on a journey of learning about our own selves and our mind.
Jordan’s Space is The Jordan Legacy’s radio show, which ran for more than 30 episodes from January 2022 – April 2024.
Each recording features an interview with a guest who shares their own unique experience of suicide or mental health and a choice of music which has a personal meaning to them.
At times, some interviews may be challenging to listen to but each one will always end on a positive note of hope for the future.
This show does discuss themes of suicide and while listening, we’d encourage you to take care of yourself by stepping away from the show at any point, should you find the content triggering or uncomfortable to listen to. For support, please visit our website’s Help resources.
The “A Happier Me” Podcast – Episode 2: “From ‘Adolescence’ to Action: Helping Teens Build Resilience and Happiness”.
For anyone who didn’t watch the Netflix drama, “Adolescence”, starring Stephen Graham, it’s a story about a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a girl from his class. The drama highlights a combination of issues that many young people, their parents and teachers don’t know how to respond to. It caused a huge debate online, even prompting the UK prime Minister, Sir Kier Starmer, to welcome a move by Netflix to make the series available to screen for free in secondary schools.
In this episode of ‘A Happier Me’, we explore the challenges faced by young people today and those faced by teachers and parents too and how simply restricting access to smartphones, for example, isn’t going to cure the problem of 26% of secondary school students persistently being absent or the increasing rates in self-harm and tragically suicides also.
This insightful conversation suggests that it’s the young people themselves who have an innate ability within to choose how they respond to the constant pressures and comparisons that life throws their way. Its down to parents and educators to help them reach in to access this ability.
