Our 3rd Hope for Life UK Conference is taking place on December 2nd 2025 in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
About the Hope for Life Conference
It began as finding some way to deflect Jordan’s family from the immense sadness we experience each December 4th since he took his own life in 2019, a way to create inspiration and a belief that from his devastating loss, we could find hope again and by doing so, inspire others to believe that also.
On December 2nd, 2025, The Jordan Legacy is hosting its third Hope for Life (UK) Conference, in Harrogate and it promises to be every bit as special as the previous two conferences have been.
A mix of carefully selected speakers, musicians and performance acts will inspire an audience of more than 100 people from across the UK and overseas so that they end this year filled with hope and a belief that it is possible to prevent all preventable suicides.
“This isn’t like any conference I’ve attended, this is more like being with family.”

Our speakers
Ellen Roome
In April 2022, Ellen Roome found her son, Jools, unconscious in his bedroom.
An inquest into Jools’ death found he took his own life. The coroner at the time said it was unlikely he intended to end his life, but the exact events leading up to his death were unclear.
Ellen believes that Jools died after an online challenge went wrong and that his social media accounts could provide the evidence needed.
In March 2024, Ellen sold her successful company, The Finance Roome Ltd, after running it for 18 years. Since then, she has devoted her life to pushing for legislative change. Ellen spearheads “Jools’ Law,” a campaign advocating for parental access to the digital accounts of deceased minors. Her efforts have garnered widespread support and national media coverage, and Jools Law was discussed in Parliament on January 13 this year.
It is a privilege to announce that Ellen will be speaking at this year’s conference.
Dr. Manoj Krishna
After 22 years as a busy spine surgeon, Dr. Manoj Krishna was moved by much of the suffering he saw in the world that he left medicine to establish The Human Wisdom Foundation and create the HappierMe app.
Dr. Krishna will explain how working with young people in particular, he discovered they already possessed an innate, inner intelligence but how could this be drawn out of these young people? He set about doing all he could to empower young people to discover their own wisdom or inner intelligence to help them lead happier and more successful lives and create a better future for humanity.
We’re delighted that Dr. Manoj Krishna will be sharing his vision with us at the conference.
Akeela Mohammed
Imagine living within a community where you feared telling others how your partner really died!
Akeela’s husband, Ayaz, died in 2019, but she initially told family and friends he had died of a heart attack. She hid the true cause of his death for six months because she felt people would not understand that Ayaz had mental health problems.
Akeela made BBC News headlines when she hosted the first “Muslim Wellness Conference” and will speak about her vision to improve access to support for people suffering from mental health problems and how stigma must be dealt with better in different cultures, so others don’t have to go through the same experience as her husband,
We are thrilled that Akeela will be joining us for Hope for Life (UK) 2025.
Mike McCarthy
In the summer of 2023, the Baton of Hope UK, toured 12 UK cities in 12-days to raise awareness about and break the stigma surrounding suicide.
The baton was carried by more than 1000 people, all impacted in some way by suicide, including Olympic athletes and other sports stars.
At the end of the tour, the baton arrived at 10 Downing Street, where Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak said: “The Baton of Hope is a true point of light in our country, and it will help to save many lives now and in years to come.”
The Tour is back for 2025 and this September it’s even bigger, taking in 20 locations across the country – full details here.
We’re delighted to have Mike joining us and you’ll hear him speak about the highs and lows of putting on such a huge and inspiring event.
More speakers to be announced soon.
Please Note: At The Jordan Legacy, we continually strive to invite and showcase speakers from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Whilst we may not always achieve our ideal vision in this respect, we do always ensure that there is diversity in the stories shared.

Ticket sales now live, including an early bird saving of £20 available only for bookings received before the end of March.
