A supermarket with the personal touch
So many individuals and organisations have supported our cause during 2025 and each has made a special connection with us at The Jordan Legacy. One such supporter is Booths Supermarket.
Early in 2024, Steve was contacted by a lady from Morecambe, which happens to be the town where Jordan and his sister, Danielle, grew up and went to school and where now, Jordan’s ashes are laid to rest. Aldene works for a local Booths Supermarket store in Carnforth, near Morecambe and had heard about Jordan’s story. She asked the store’s management if there might be some way that they could support our work at The Jordan Legacy.
As Aldene and Steve corresponded, it transpired that all 3 of her children went to the same primary school as Danielle and Jordan and one of her children was in the same class as Danielle. Aldene also mentioned that a former work colleague and very good friend, lost her son to suicide in 2016, just three days after his 16th birthday. She was, understandably, keen to support our work.
Following one or two early donations, at the beginning of 2025, the store’s management agreed to support The Jordan Legacy and regular collections were introduced via a book stand near the store’s cafe and via the tills. Each week, regular donations from Booths’ customers would arrive into our bank account and in the summer both Danielle and Steve visited the store to meet with Aldene (for the first time) and management and staff to thank them for their support.
Each month during 2025, customers and staff at Booths in Carnforth have done their bit and by the end of that year, the total amount of donations received had exceeded £1000!
We want to say a massive thank you to Aldene and everyone at Booths Supermarket in Carnforth, Lancashire for their wonderful and very personal support.
