What is the mission of The Jordan Legacy? In what ways are you working to achieve this?

Our mission is to move toward a ‘Zero Suicide Society’ which, by our definition, is a society that is willing and able to do all it can to prevent all preventable suicides. We are working to achieve this through collaboration with others who share our vision and through various activities and actions which you can read about under the ‘About us’ > ‘What we do’ menus.

What makes you different from other suicide prevention organisations?

Our difference is that we believe no one suicide prevention organisation can create significant change by operating alone. We want to amplify the voices of others, particularly those voices who often go unheard and bring together those advocating for a signifcant reduction in suicide deaths to work collaboratively to create change at scale.

How are you funded?

Most of our funds are received in the form of donations, in return for talks we deliver to businesses and workplaces and through fundraising activities undertaken by our wonderful followers and supporters. We also operate our own #JustAnotherNumber lottery and undertake other fundraising initiatives. Details of all these can be found on the ‘Supporting us’ section of our website.

How can I donate?

Financial donations to support our mission can be made via our website using the orange donation button. This allows for payment via PayPal, Debit/Credit card or via our crowdfunding platform GoodHub. Other ways to donate or contribute to our mission are explained on the ‘Supporting us’ section of our website.

How is the money used if I donate or fundraise for you?

All money raised is fed back into The Jordan Legacy to enable us to remain sustainable and continue to deliver our suicide prevention advocacy work 7 days a week. This includes delivering talks to schools and community groups at no fee, co-hosting our HappierMe podcast, maintaining the Help & Resources section of our website, hosting online educational panel events to discuss and share practical solutions to preventing suicides and much more. More information can be found on the ‘About us’ > ‘What we do’ section of our website.

Can I book The Jordan Legacy to speak to my organisation or at my event?

You can book us to speak at your workplace, school, group or event. We ask that corporate businesses and larger groups consider making a donation to The Jordan Legacy in return for our talks, which enables us to go into schools and other community groups/events and deliver talks where no budget is available.

Why should The Jordan Legacy deliver a talk to my organisation or at my event?

Education about suicide, how to spot the signs and support someone who may be having thoughts of ending their life, at any age, is vitally important if we are to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide and save lives. Our talks equip those attending with the understanding, confidence and knowledge to be able to support a friend, colleague, student, a loved one or even a complete stranger.

How can I support The Jordan Legacy?

There are various ways in which you can help us spread awareness about our work, by sharing our social media content and talking to others about our mission to prevent all preventable suicides. Also, you may possess certain skills or traits which would be of enormous value in helping to support our work. If this is something you’d like to discuss with us, please use the ‘Contact us’ page and being as specific as you can, let us know how you believe you can support our mission.

How can our/my organisation support The Jordan Legacy?

By becoming one of our Hero or Superhero partners you will be able to donate or fundraise to support our mission and in return, we will provide your company with support in the form of talks or wellbeing, mental health and suicide awareness/prevention consultancy. Our partners also receive tickets to attend our bi-annual Hope for Life Conference, as well as a lot of positive brand recognition when we mention you to our thousands of online and social media followers.
